## Start with the task in front of you.

A one-off invoice download may need only a guide. Recurring work may need a better handoff or a tool.

### Find the right billing page.

Follow the manual steps for your vendor, with the required account role and official sources alongside them.

### Understand the handoff.

Check whether the vendor sends a document by email or keeps it behind a billing login. Identify who can retrieve it.

### Choose a workflow that fits.

Compare a shared inbox, email processing, portal collection and bookkeeping tools when the same work keeps returning.

## From a missing invoice to a usable record.

The billing owner and the person preparing expenses are often different people. The guides make that dependency explicit.

### Identify the billed account

Check the vendor, plan and billing owner. Personal subscriptions, team workspaces and API accounts can have different billing pages.

### Retrieve the document

Use the guide and linked vendor documentation. If you do not have billing access, ask the account owner for the invoice.

### Check the evidence

Confirm the company, billing period, amount and currency before passing the document to the person handling expenses.

## Email delivery and portal access are different jobs.

A payment alert or a link to a billing portal is not the same as receiving an invoice file. Check what your vendor actually sends before choosing an email-processing tool.

## Sources beside the advice.

Guides link to vendor documentation and show their review date. Tool comparisons distinguish published capabilities from hands-on testing, and name the access and plan limits that matter. A listed vendor does not imply a working Billproof connection.

The guides and comparison are available now. The software product remains an early-access experiment. If you want to discuss future tools, tell us where your current workflow falls short.
