Step by step
Download the invoice from Anthropic
- 01
Identify whether the charge is for a Claude paid plan or the Anthropic API Console.
- 02
For Claude Pro or Max, open the profile menu, choose Settings, then Billing.
- 03
In the Invoices section, select View beside the required document.
- 04
For API Console payments, sign in with a Billing or Admin role and open Billing > Invoice history.
- 05
Open the recent receipt or invoice and save it for reconciliation.
- 06
If the API document is older than the visible history, use Anthropic Support; also search the registered billing inbox for the automatic copy.
Older documents
Where historical invoices are stored
Claude Settings > Billing > Invoices for paid plans; Anthropic Console Billing > Invoice history for recent API payments.
Missing evidence
What to do if an invoice is missing
Confirm the product and account, verify a Billing or Admin role for the API organization, search the registered billing inbox, and contact Anthropic Support for older API receipts or invoices no longer shown in Console.
Troubleshooting
Common retrieval problems
- A Claude subscription invoice is searched for in the API Console, or vice versa.
- The Console user has a User role without billing visibility.
- An older API document has aged out of recent Console history.
- A finalized Claude invoice is expected to accept retroactive billing-detail edits.
Reconciliation
Match the invoice to a card or bank charge
- Classify Claude subscription versus API Console before matching.
- For API spend, distinguish prepaid credit purchases from contracted monthly usage invoices.
- Match organization or account, invoice date, and total, and use Console cost reporting to explain usage without replacing the receipt or invoice.
